Statutory and Tax Compliance Calendar for month of May 2024

This article compiles due-dates for GST, Income Tax, ESI, PF Acts, and Companies Act compliances with a primary focus on Individuals, Professionals, and SME Businesses.

These due-dates are subject to extensions based on stakeholder representations and circumstances. We will notify you as soon as any due-dates are extended.

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, colour coding is employed for better understanding.

News and updates

Date of filing Form 10A and 10AB extended.

✅ The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has officially extended the deadline for filing Form 10Aand Form 10ABto June 30, 2024, according to Circular No. 07/2024. This extension is to alleviate hardshipsfaced by taxpayers, following multiple prior extensions. Trusts, institutions, and funds that had not filed for AY 2022-23 can use this opportunity to adjust their filings or reapply.

✅ The extension applies to provisions under sections 10230, 12Ą 80G, and 35 of the Income-tax Act. All relevant applications must be filed electronically via the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department This announcementaims to address issues faced due to late or incorrectly filed applications in the past.

Relief for TDS/TCS Deductors:

Circular No. 6/2024, issued for PAN-Aadhaar non-linkage short deduction demand notices.

✅ Deductors not in default for collecting at normal rate despite PAN inoperability if linked with Aadhaar by 31-05-24

✅ For transactions up to 31-03-24
